Shipping and Insuring the Portrait

If watercolor is your medium of choice, the final portrait will be shipped in a sturdy reinforced mailing tube and shipped first class certified mail. If you have chosen to have your portrait completed in oil, a wooden crate is constructed for the portrait and it is usually shipped UPS. In either case the portrait is fully insured. The total cost is typically less than $50.00. The charge for crating, shipping, and insuring is invoiced separately after shipment.

Sometimes the size of a crated portrait exceeds the UPS limits. In this event, I use a different shipping agent. Often this is more expensive due primarily to the higher cost of insurance. However, many clients find they save the insurance costs by adding the portrait onto their homeowner's policy before shipment and have it covered during shipment.
